So what does it take to get a drawing or five done?

Depends on what you want drawn, and how much you'd like to pay for it. :)

Hmmmmm...maybe in the future...I'm thinking of pictures for my site. But my financial picture will have to get much better before I can hire an artist.

Grimace 11-15-2010 07:03 PM

Definitely nice work!

I don't charge much. hell, i've even taken things as trade for payment.

B.T. 11-16-2010 10:42 AM

Really nice pics :D

May I use some of your pics in my game?

That's nice to know as it seems that Both Pauls on the forum are low on expendable cash right now.

TiggerCCW UK 11-16-2010 01:15 PM

Hi, my names Paul and I'm skint too :-D

Rockwolf66 11-16-2010 08:05 PM

make that all three of us then.

If i get the money then i would love to get an Image of a Mossberg toting CavScout and His Redheaded Russian Deserter companion.

Please note that I do take things in trade if someone doesn't have money... I have gone to gamer cons and events and put up a sign saying "will draw for food, gaming materials or money"...

Sure... just as long as i get credit for my work I don't mind. :)

I have friends of mine from when i was in the navy who still use my artwork to illustrate their characters. And that was twenty years ago.

Damn... twenty years.... it doesn't feel that long ago. It really makes me feel like an old broken down... well, you get the idea.

But back on track... money isn't the only thing i take in payment for my art. So don't worry if you're as skint as me ($1170.00 a month VA disability only goes so far you know).

Webstral 11-17-2010 02:10 PM

Very nice work, indeed. What an investment of time and effort!

LTC Mackenzie Cahill (yes, she's the daughter of the Sheriff in the picture above), a female officer who started out her career in the Army working Military Intelligence but has found herself leading a 'battalion' of troops who made the breakout from Kalisz. Her callsign use to be 'Hardbody'... but now it's 'Hardcore Six' because, well... she's sexy as hell, but still hardcore about getting everyone back home.

MSG Nathaniel Hale Spaight, an updated picture of my first Twilight 2000 character. a 29 year old Ranger who ended up getting promoted to Master Sergeant and put in charge of an extreme long range recon team of others who went to Ranger School or had served in the Ranger Regiment at some point in their career.

2LT Ashton Snyder (aka 'il douche' by those who know him), Combat Engineering Platoon Commander

SFC Hamilton Dodge, Combat Engineering Platoon Sergeant... the man who has to get Snyder to do his job.

Combat Engineering Section Sergeants

SSG Chandler Wheeler, the Farmboy Ranger who works with an NBC team in carrying out surveys of surrounding land to find the best places to plant crops... Wheeler is also the frequent target of 2LT Snyder's snide comments and verbal attacks.

Cool work - you are gifted.
Sometimes i see drawings in rpg-publications, and asked myself "why to hell did they hire THAT artist?" (Like the ones they used for the early TNE-books - just my opinion, never liked the illustrations there).
They should have hired you, instead. But besides the option of making money with that talent, i am sure its pretty satisfying to look at your work, once you finished, huh ? Keep it up!

Believe it or not... my artwork will be in the new edition of the Morrow Project RPG that's coming out around the end of this year. It's in layouts, and only needing my artwork to finish it. So i'm drawing all kinds of people pictures to illustrate it. And most of my pics for it can be used for Morrow Project and Twilight 2000 type characters. :)

I was doing the layouts, but unfortunately my desktop computer died and all the work i had done on the layouts was lost... but the guys putting things together said not to worry about it since I was having problems with my computer working with the program they were using, and had someone who was doing a faster job of layouts than i was. Just to focus on the artwork.

I'm also trying to draw gear pictures... but for some reason, that takes alot longer than people pictures for me to draw.

Sure, i do believe that! Congrats, pal! Your art deserves to be put in a professional book. Looking forward to buy it - i did not read much of the Morrow-Project yet, but i will now.
Please remind us in this forum, when it comes out.

Since the Falklands war the bergen is pretty much the iconic symbol of the parachute regiment and their determination to do what it takes, regardless of situation.

The plan was for the paras to deploy via helicopter in an airbourne role, similar to the US air-mobile units. the ship that carried most of the transport helicopters was attacked by the argentines using exorcet missles and most of the helicopters where lost so the Paras loaded everything they needed in the Bergens and marched from one side of the falklands to the other.

Impressive as always Nate.

For the above character pics what size to do draw them generally. The detail you get is incredible and I was wondering how much it is reduced in size.
