Great, just great! Now the PGA is going to try to one up the Aussies! Can't do sharks so that bunch of hyper-weenies will probably go for Claymores on the 9th and a flamethrower trap on the 18th hole.....

Many of the golf courses in my city feature resident mobs of wild western grey kangaroos. Obviously not quite as much of a hazard as sharks but its best not to rile up fully grown male kangaroos, they can do some serious damage.

Right up to and including disembowelment...

An Australian guy that used to work with my wife and I was knocked out cold by a 'roo. When he was younger and had first got his driving licence he 'borrowed' his mums car without permission and clipped a 'roo on his way home. He got out to check the damage and the 'roo kicked him pretty much across the road :(

Yeah, they are pretty hardy creatures. And that one obviously took offense at being hit by a car.

While acting as enemy force we grew a little bored with the sitting around the campfire, drinking and eating bbq steak, etc and decided to take two landrover 110's for a drive - four in one vehicle and five in the other.
Racing across the Singleton training area chasing roos, the other vehicle (with four) hit one of the biggest eastern grey bucks I've ever laid eyes on (I used to hunt them regularly too) which stood at least seven feet tall. Fortunately for the vehicle occupants the impact had broken it's hip, otherwise all that extremely angry claw and muscle would have made it up over the wind shield and lodged itself firmly amongst the occupants - it would have been very, very messy.

You'd have though that would bring the fun and games to an end, but nooooooooo - that didn't happen for about another ten minutes when the same vehicle driving through 4 foot tall grass at about 60kph (about 37mph) went over a 6 foot tall drop off. Nobody was hurt (badly) but it did take some fast talking to explain the rather noticeable damage to the front end...

You haven't mentioned the deadliest, most diabolical trap of all--American beer disguised as Aussie beer at the "19th hole!" :D

I was saving that one....on the next Masters that Tiger Woods takes part in...his ex-wife will be waiting in the sand trap with a nine-iron!

This year for the first time that I can remember there has been a big TV advertising campaign for Budweiser here in Australia. It really confuses me. Budweiser is rat's pish, no self-respecting Aussie would drink it. Matter of fact from what I have heard from my American friends, many Americans refuse to drink it too.

True....but the worst beer has got to be Shlitz....the last time that I saw any cans of this beer-colored water, the liquor store was throwing cases of it in the dumpster!

As for Budweiser in Australia, just another chapter in why the world hates America....

Nah, as anyone who was stationed at hood, or lived in Texas knows, it's Lone Star beer.

Sorry, you haven't experienced truly pitiful beer until you've opened a can of Reading (Pennsylvania) Premium (HAH!) beer. At least what was sold as such in my youth. Apparently it's being made again. One hopes it doesn't closely resemble the liquid end-product of beer-drinking the way the old stuff did--it tasted like someone scared a vat of water with a blurry picture of a glass of beer.

Actually the original Schlitz was a good beer, coarse that was back in the day....in the 60s. The stuff today is well............. ill just leave it at that.

And then, of course, there is Schmidt's Beer. I learned to avoid both at a VERY young age. (18 or so) :p

The worst beer that comes to mind is Amberg's Black Label.

While stationed with the ole 2ACR in the lovely town of Amberg, we had to move to our dedicated defense position once a month. Our route took us right past the Amberg brewery...my first experience has always stayed in my mind, because located directly across the street is the town of Amberg's waste water treatment plant. The smell of freshly brewed beer and hops, mixed with the subtle order of raw sewage...........

I have never been able to open a bottle without a strong gag reflex!

They must use the same brewing process of Minnesota Brew...lol
