OT: Walter Reed is closing.
 

Founded in 1909, Walter Reed Army Medical Center will be closing its doors on September 15, 2011. Its operations will be combined with the National Naval Medical Center at Bethesda. Those buildings deemed historical landmarks will remain, everything else will be demolished and the campus will go to Washington D.C. to be developed for commercial purposes.

The new complex will be renamed the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center at Bethesda.
