Help Needed... (reference pics for T2k artwork)
Hi everyone...
I'm going to ask for some help for reference pictures for some T2k artwork that i'm going to be working on... namely pictures of personnel form various armed forces in their combat gear (and out of gear as well if they are sitting around 'unwinding' during a break). One of the characters I'm going to be drawing, is a Scottish infantryman that will be wearing the glengarry bonnet (as seen below). http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...x-Ts17army.jpg I want to do various pictures that will have examples of 'unique' british army uniform items... i just need help getting reference pics. |
The Glengarry shown is a dress uniform item- the combat equivalent (when not replaced by a battle bowler) is the Tam-O'Shanter, listed in military stores as "Bonnet, T.O.S."
I'll see what pictures I can find. |

Here is some pics I and some others took back in the sandbox:
In Order: 3rd Platoon, G-2/3 - Got to love the Stetsons. Why its called the $h!+y end of the stick - probably see a lot of these in various cantonments. Bradfield (KIA while earning 2nd BS(V) in as many months) and Dumond chatting up some Brits. Beach time in Fallujah. "All Kills Are Confirmed." Working the spitfire sat radio. 2nd Platoon, G-2/3 Leadership team. The 2LT is the beyond awesome officer mentioned many a time by me.. the PSG... well.. lets just say it was a good thing the LT was as good as all that. Shopping in Fallujah The token Dutchman (Not long after this pic he became a US cit) Chilling in Fallujah. |

Volume II None Volume III British deployment for Operation Allied Force 120-161 Volume III is a good source book for a Balkan Campaign. Timelines, historical details, who is who, Factions, etc. Sorry no ISBNs to be found and the website www.peacekeeperinfoguide.com died in 2010. I bought mine in the PX while I was there. The books say they are copyrighted, and printed and bound in Europe. Details stop there. |
