A mother-in-law during a full moon on PMS?

Tegyrius 05-07-2012 07:31 PM

I have a suspicion, but it's almost certainly worse than we know.

I'm actually more curious about the substance that washed out of the trees and made the whole party neigh-unkillable.

I'm also a little confused - who was the guy who they killed, took back to base, and had to decapitate after he reanimated? I thought that was the Baron, but now it seems like the Baron is this creature? Also, what the hell happened in the Black Madonna chapter?

Targan 05-08-2012 04:07 AM

What the hell are you guys talking about?

Here's the thing about that theory. It was the players explanation for the sickness they experienced the next morning. The assumption among the group was they'd been exposed to a very dilute sample of chemical agents. the whole toughness and healing thing wasn't noticed until much later.

Yes, Baron Czarny was killed. When they returned to the Palace of Culture, the thing that changed him took his place. It appears to have the ability to project illusions. It first appeared to Czarny and his men as an "angel" and then appeared in public as Czarny.

Those that have been changed, for want of a better word, can somewhat see through it. If it really works at maintaining the facade it gives them and itself a killer headache. It only dealt with Czarny after the change and Czarny knew what it really looked like. He didn't care.

The thing really doesn't have a good grasp of human psychology, but it enjoys the chaos.

Interesting reading. I'd just like to point out something though, Chris' sig
"Everything turns into Cthulhu at the end."

:D

Okay so my theory is shot down. I said Nyarlathotep, but apparently that's not it.

Cdnwolf 05-08-2012 07:23 PM

Still sticking with the mother-in-law with PMS theory...

DigTw0Grav3s 05-09-2012 12:25 AM

Are we actually going to find out what the creature is? With the ship now underway, it would seem like it's a lapsed issue.

weswood 05-09-2012 06:07 AM

I finished reading the whole blog on the game. Pretty good story. When I first noticed the near miraculous healing, I figured it was something to do with the Black Madonna.

That was a table theory as well, but the Margrave's brother didn't and if anyone would have it would have been him. So it got shot down quick.

If you'd like to know you can drop me a PM or just wait as things develop.

My tendency when running games with 'extra-natural' elements in a 'realistic' is to ramp slowly, climax, and ;et things return to normal before they ramp again. Now, normal in T2k leaves lots of room for adventure. And now that it got waved in their face they'll never now what is merely human evil and what is something else. It really breeds the paranoia. How far do they look down the rabit hole?

Looking like aliens?

Edit: Scratch that. Some kind of tactile ghost-in-the-machine projection from the fusion system? I am LOVING this plot. It's so unlike anything else..

A mother-in-law with PMS might be trumped by a wife who has discovered that you don’t think she’s the best lover you ever had. On the plus side, the funeral service for my old college buddy who was too free-handed with his thoughts was both lovely and moving. This is good, because it had to be a closed casket service.

Which is EXACTLY why my wife isn't one of my Facebook friends!
