So Good It Deserves Its Own Thread

I don't get into the canon/non-canon debates.
For me the rules are a springboard to whatever games well or whatever sparks my creative imagination. The modules themselves give variations and options to make the adventures less one-dimensional. Others may see the rules in a WH40K light, where only that handed down from the original creators may be included in the game. If you need that consistency to keep a lid on obstreperous and argumentative players, then more power to you. |
I've said it before, it really doesn't matter. If a writer wants their work accepted and used on a wide scale, they should stick to using the books as a framework.
If they're just writing for themselves, or the fun of it, there's no limits! Any further discussion of canon/non-canon is a waste of space. Argument, but not outright fighting and flaming, is a good thing though. What's the point in us all agreeing and not critiquing ideas? No dissent equals stagnation. |

(From "The Life of Brian") Brian: Please, please, please listen! I've got one or two things to say. The Crowd: Tell us! Tell us both of them! Brian: Look, you've got it all wrong! You don't NEED to follow ME, You don't NEED to follow ANYBODY! You've got to think for your selves! You're ALL individuals! The Crowd: Yes! We're all individuals! Brian: You're all different! The Crowd: Yes, we ARE all different! Man in crowd: I'm not... The Crowd: Sch! |
