OT - Deploying Again

I just wanted to drop in and let my friends here know that I'm off to the Sandbox again. RC-South in Afghanistan this time. Right now it's cold there, so the biggest enemy is boredom from what I'm hearing. Hopefully, it'll stay that way. I should have email and whatnot fairly reliably, so if you have something, don't hesitate to send me a note.

Raellus 12-28-2012 07:09 PM

Stay safe, man. Thanks for doing what you do.

DigTw0Grav3s 12-28-2012 07:16 PM

Good luck, Eddie. Keep everybody safe over there.

I understand the necessity of rotating personnel out, even during a drawdown, but it's still strange to think that you're on your way in as the Coalition is drawing up logistics plans to move people and equipment out.

raketenjagdpanzer 12-28-2012 09:35 PM

Hang tight, man.

Webstral 12-28-2012 11:16 PM

Eddie, don't forget to duck just because you've made it this far. Flying objects are notoriously indifferent to rank and experience. Keep your powder dry, man.

James Langham 12-29-2012 01:16 AM

Best wishes.

LAW0306 12-29-2012 01:19 AM

stay safe!

Medic 12-29-2012 03:40 AM

Keep your feet and powder dry, and your head down.

Targan 12-29-2012 04:12 AM

Respect to you Eddie. Good hunting.

mikeo80 12-29-2012 04:55 AM

Thank you for your service. Stay safe, and get home as soon as you can.

My $0.02

Mike

What they all said.

weswood 12-29-2012 01:20 PM

Keep your head and your ass down. And put a helmet onm that soldier! (Oh wait, different context)

The Rifleman 12-29-2012 01:53 PM

Take no crazy chances. You're a veteran, so just follow your instincts and come home safe.

pmulcahy11b 12-29-2012 02:34 PM

Gook luck; as one of the posters said, you already know what you're doing. (But don't get complacent!) And if you ever meet a tall beanpole sergeant named James Sumner, tell him his uncle doesn't appreciate his nephew being in a combat zone without writing him!

Grimace 12-29-2012 05:01 PM

Stay alive and in one piece.

Snake Eyes 12-29-2012 07:59 PM

Come back soon.

bobcat 12-30-2012 12:07 AM

keep your powder dry, your socks clean and remember your armor is "fragile if dropped":D

but stay safe and run a game while your there if the boredom gets too bad.

kota1342000 12-30-2012 07:39 AM

I second that from Bobcat...."Dont drop your helmet, it might break". Great. Thanks.

Come back safe and bring as many back safe as you can too.
