OT- Tanknet website down ?
 

I know a couple of people on here also post over at Tanknet. I haven't been able to get on since last week. I keep getting a 'forbidden' message. Does anyone know what's going on ?

I was wondering the same thing. For awhile I thought it was because they didn't visitors from liberal Kalifornia, but now that I know others are having this problem, it appears to be a different issue.

Yeah, I too have been trying to find out what's up. It does appear to be down. There's an FB page for it but I can't figure out what it is ("tanknet" of FB ain't them).

I did sign up for the forum so I could use the search feature, etc., and made a couple posts with my "provisional, pending approval" access (someone asked about the amt. of TNT in a Shillelagh warhead, and I had a question about the AMX-30) - then that was taken away, but I never got approved, then I started getting 403: Forbidden errors and thought I'd been site-banned...but no, the whole thing is kerplooy.

Looks like its back up.

I just signed up again...I'll see if I can stick around this time.

Does anyone know the thread where newbies can post? Trying to get my account approved!

I've given up. I'm going to view as guest and keep any responses or "idea" posts to myself from now on. I've seen boards with bad approval systems, I've seen boards with paranoid approval systems, but this is the first time I've seen a board with bad, paranoid approval systems.

This is in regards to New Approvals:

I know it's a bit paranoid but the site has been taken down twice that I know of because of hackers/spam.

I saw that, and I can't create or respond to posts in that thread or any others on the site. I had a working account for a couple of weeks, then it went away. Oh well.
