Looking for a book.

I read part of a book (the first dozen or so pages anyway) back years ago about a nuclear attack on the US and a spec ops team with a LAV that was charged with rescuing the president and getting him out of the DC area while waves of conventional Soviet troops (mostly special forces already in the US) wrought havoc. I have no recollection of what it was called. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

The Guardian series maybe? They cruised around in a V150 I think.
