Good Morning Gentlemen

No need to stand up...put your pants back on (although you may need to put that thing away...), or anything much, just wanted to say hi from the new girl on the block!

Cdnwolf 09-11-2014 06:20 AM

Welcome. We run a mature forum here (hopefully) and are always pleased to hear from the female perspective on the game. (Targan is the nearest we have had to a girl.. but he is Aussie and doesn't count.)

Oh the countdown... just wanted to see how long it took someone else to reply. :D

kato13 09-11-2014 08:01 AM

Welcome aboard, to I believe the third declared female in our many year history.

As we are very gentlemanly here, please feel free to ask any questions you might have and I am sure you will get a eloquent response.

On an unrelated note the belching contest scheduled for next week has been postponed indefinitely.

lisa 09-11-2014 09:18 AM

There's really no need to reschedule the belching contest.
I'm not unfamiliar with them, and it may prove entertaining.

For reference purposes, I am Mikeo80's girlfriend, and looking to learn about RPGs so that I can be a better companion in his interests...

pmulcahy11b 09-11-2014 09:38 AM

Good Morning Lisa, I'm Paul Mulcahy, the old goat on the block...

James Langham2 09-11-2014 09:43 AM

I come back to the site and Lisa arrives...coincidence? :-)

StainlessSteelCynic 09-11-2014 09:44 AM

G'Day Lisa, welcome to the forum. I see Mike is throwing you into the deep end :p

As for you Cdnwolf, there might just be more of us Aussies on the board than you Canucks so you had better watch out or else we might just slip a dingo or two into your dunny one dark night.

The first thing you'll know is you being bitten on the bum by a wild dog and the last thing you'll say is "That dingo's got my babies!"
:D

Damn that Maury! All I said was "Who's ya daddy?"

mikeo80 09-12-2014 04:23 AM

Thanks

I appreciate you guys welcoming Lisa to our midst. I told her about RPG's and RPG'ers. She did NOT go screaming into the night. She says she wants to learn. SOOO....I am going to start her with TMP, then T2K.

On the other side of the coin, Lisa is a fiber artist. Knitting, crochet, bead work, etc.... I am VERY SLOWLY starting to understand the ins and outs of this world. (Pardon the pun)

SO onwards, and upwards!!!

My $0.02

Mike

lisa 09-12-2014 05:17 AM

Welcome, honey.
I was wondering when you were going to comment.

Well we can be a strange bunch sometimes but we realize that the stereotype of the RPGer is just that, a stereotype and I doubt many people here actually conform to the stereotype.
Having said that, I'll say again, we can be a strange bunch but it wouldn't matter if we were model railway fans, football fanatics, surfers or rock climbers because Targan would still be accused of wearing a tutu, Cdnwolf would still be watching Maury Povich and accusing anyone here of being the father of his secret lovechild, the belching competitions would still be held and Paul would still be waiting for the $10,000-a-night hooker he was promised and we still wouldn't be wearing any pants!
:p

Oh, sorry for derailing your welcome party Lisa :D

Surely Superman underwear should be worn on the outside?

mikeo80 09-12-2014 04:48 PM

Superman boxers are fine. Lisa is a very forgiving soul. (Hey, she puts up with me!!!)

Yes, Rcaf, there is a lady lurking about.

So, just so ya'll know, I am VERY smitten with the lady. And she WANTED to get to know this side of me???!!!??? :sahmm:

Well......I know the hooker. She said to tell y'all that she's on sabbatical for the next few weeks.
After that, She may become available again, but she really IS $10,000 a night...

I'm not fiber optics, even though it fascinates me...I couldn't get through programming...female brains tend to leap forward by 3-4 steps at a time. (I was a notorious failure at being able to go step-by-step...)

However--I can role-play with the best of them...:looks at the leather, spike-heeled boots...:

StainlessSteelCynic 09-13-2014 06:09 PM

I like your sense of humour Lisa, I think you'll fit right in with the rest of this gang of crazies!

bobcat 09-14-2014 03:40 PM

hi i seem to be the only one here wearing pants at the moment, granted i'm usually dressed like a shrub.

WallShadow 09-14-2014 06:18 PM

Hi, Lisa:
My wife had been playing RPGs before we met, although not Twi2k. She has in the last 4 years started coming to the gaming cons with me and my godsons. She is a much better strategist than I am (curse it!) but we manage to have fun anyway.
Bobcat: it's a good thing I put off hedge-trimming, then, innit? <puts away the large, sharp hedge clippers>

Rockwolf66 09-15-2014 02:58 AM

Hello Lisa,

I'm Rockwolf66, I'm a guy that even an International level Politician has called a "Horrible, Horrible person."

Then again this was before she became an International Level Politician and her tongue was firmly in her cheek.

.45cultist 09-24-2014 11:08 AM

Hello! It's nice you'll share this ultimate choose your own adventure hobby, do they even still have those books? I wear pants since I'm almost a perfect fit for the overweight basement dweller meme.:( Hope you enjoy the game!

Twilight2000v3MM 09-28-2014 04:33 PM

Hi Lisa... just remember a few things with this game.

1) Have fun.
2) Shoot shit
3) Blow shit up
4) Stay away from the things that tend to attract big bullets (like tanks)
5) "Never get out of the tank" (an actual quote from an ex GF of mine that played... her PC had an unfortunate accident involving a machinegun as she bailed out to try to fix her vehicle in the middle of combat.)
