OT: Favorite drop

It was my birthday on Halloween and my wife bought me a bottle of sour mash whiskey distilled in the south of my state. It is a really nice drop.

What do you guys like to drink?

Many happy returns!

And nothing beats Bushmills!

Happy Birthday

Grey Goose Vodka - real vodka, none of that flavored stuff

Uncle Ted

I drank myself sick on hard liquor too many times at university to care much for most distilled spirits. Just the smell of Seagram's 7 gives me the heaves.

For my money, nothing beats an original Guinness draft. I got to go to the brewery in Dublin last March but I was chaperoning a group of high school students so I couldn't partake. It still aches.

And Happy Belated Birthday, Targan.

Guinness for beer and Old Granddad Whiskey when I feel like really getting blitzed.

I think everyone here knows I'm a lifelong teetotaler. I do love the POM brand of pomegranate juice, but -- there's a homebrew Root Beer they serve in Tombstone AZ I really love and haven't had in about 30 years now.

Whisky for me (without the e). Preferably Talisker (from the Isle of Skye) or Laphroaig (from Islay).

Woodford Reserve for Bourbon.

A good IPA like the Bunkerhill served at the local brewpub.

... looks like an expensive drop, Targan?!

Happy Birthday.

Me? I'll go a Coopers Pale Ale beer most times. Little Creatures bright ale was quite good when i went to WA, but hard to get here in SA.

I have started to branch out a bit. Bulleit Bourbon, on ice with water.

Thanks for the birthday goodwill :D

My dad (he likes Scotch and Irish whiskeys) and and I like to sample from his collection when I visit him and he usually has a bottle of Bushmills in the collection.

Ah Guinness. Simultaneously an alcoholic drink and a liquid food. :)

I looked up Old Grand Dad after I read your post and now I want a bottle.

I would love to go on a tour of the great distilleries of Scotland and Ireland.

A bottle of Tiger Snake is about $130 I think. Coopers Pale Ale is a lovely ale, and I had lunch with my wife at the Little Creatures brewery on Saturday :)

I do like Bulleit, it's just getting to the quality level where I feel guilty if I mix it with anything. I feel similarly about Maker's Mark.

Nice :) I have been known to enjoy a CC and dry from time to time.

jester 11-04-2014 03:45 AM

Ah, CC, I became a fan of it when I endured a pump and spent it with HQ 3rd Mar Div......it kept me sane.
