Meanwhile in the Canadian Army......

We are getting Tomahawks issued, they authorized to be worn as part of your Battle Rattle AKA Load Bearing Vest or webbing for your old folks like myself

Tomahawk missiles???

Or Native American axe type Tomahawks lol.

WallShadow 07-06-2016 09:11 AM

Yeah, they're great for knocking down a tree, but you can only use one once. Kind of expensive gor a kindling-maker, though.

A very good "multi-tool" and deadly combat weapon. I kept one in my cruiser in case I had to "breach" someone's front door or pry open a car door during an accident. Not as good as a Halligan Tool and a Splitting Maul for entries, but much smaller and lighter. It can be thrown reasonably effectively as well.

What this "We" stuff?

I'm not getting a Tomahawk, how can I get a Tomahawk?

I would be totally responsible with it and not go all "Blood for the Blood God, Skulls for the Skull Throne!" with it as soon as I got it.

And just how do you think we got ours.
blood yes Blood!

WallShadow 07-09-2016 03:13 PM

I always heard it as:

Blood! Blood! Blood makes the grass grow.
Grass! Grass! Grass makes the trees grow.
Trees! Trees! Trees make the fire blow.
Fire! Fire! Fire makes the iron glow.
Iron! Iron! Iron makes the blood flow.
Blood! Blood....

Of course this has nothing on my personal battlecry, which guarantees to make the enemy pause and contemplate the result of being defeated:

"Eat the wounded, and rape the dead!":rolleyes:

My reply to a very pushy Hare Krishna who asked me "What's the matter? Don't you believe in peace on Earth?"

"Buddy, I'm in the field artillery. I believe in pieces ALL OVER THE EARTH...PREFERABLY LITTLE, TINY, ONES...."

Strangely enough, he quit bothering me. :)

Wish I knew what to say, I was on parade when the Brigade Commander broke the news

What's the point to having it IF you're not going to use it? :)

I forgot to post this but the Tomahawk I ended up getting the United Cutlery
M48 Tactical Tomahawk.

I can carry it on my tactical vest or on my rucksack

This raises several questions

<mode=serious>
1. Neither the page nor the spec sheet available list the Tomahawk's weight. What does it weigh (to the nearest .1 kg)?

2. What is its designation in the CDF?

<mode=frivolous>
3. Does training include watching the last 15 minutes of Last of the Mohicans (1992)?

4. If its designation is not the C1 Tomahawk (I wondered at M48, but realized this was a civilian marketing designation, and had nothing to do either with 1948 or 47 previous designs), where can I find field test reports for previous models?

"1757 Ft William Henry Field Test of M7A Tomahawk: Magwah find edge dull after scalping 32nd red coat in same afternoon. Weapon system ineffective vs Mohican war club."

Get a good Kydex or hardened leather sheath for it. The Kydex ones they come with are often "brittle" and will crack under hard use. Otherwise, they are pretty good tools.
