OT - Cubs
Building up cross links to an article about my dad.
http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/s...unbridled-joy/ The story missed a few fun facts he told me as a child. Like how his dad ran the garage on Wrigley Fields property where the players would park. He would offer to carry their bags into the stadium so he could get into the park for free. He also showed me all the places in the fences a skinny 10 year old used to be able to fit through. He and his brother were fans through and through. My Uncle directed many cubs games for WGN TV. My Cousins worked in TV production for him and one was even a ball girl for a year. So the loyalty ran deep in my family. For all those fans who missed the big win, you are in our thoughts. |
:) Great memories.

Soccer, right?

So only a year after Back to the Future's prediction then. :)

That's really cool, Kato. Thanks for sharing that. I can relate. My dad was, and I still am, a big Cubs fan. This World Series win was a great moment for me, but bittersweet also because I couldn't share it with him (he died two years ago). I definitely ran the emotional gamut this past couple of weeks.

That was an awesome game. Me, I was down the Vale of Glamorgan earlier in the week and saw a bunch of the Welsh Rugby team playing with a cat. I was going to phone the RSPCA but then the cat scored a brilliant knock-down try so I didn't bother.
If I wasn't bald I'd be tearing my hair out. |
Look on the bright side. You could be Scottish. Our lot couldn't beat an egg.
And Andy Murray doesn't count - he's British. Just now. |
It's The End Of The World As We Know It.
