Ready.gov has advice for what to do in a nuclear explosion. Under the instructions for Decon is this gem: "Hand sanitizer does not protect against fallout." But for those who never had the CD movies in school, here is a possible setting tool for characters.

Dad: "I killed 18 people in Iraq..."
Son: "I thought you were a helicopter mechanic, dad!"
Dad: "I never said I was a good one..."

An old Ukrainian woman walks up to a Russian soldier and hands him sunflower seeds... and goes full gangster: "Here. Put these in your pockets so when you die on my soil, flowers will grow from your corpse."

Ukrainian Resistance Fighter: "There are SO MANY of them and SO FEW of us... How will we ever bury them all after the war is over?"
