Short outages over the next two months as I prepare for migration an upgrade.

This site is hosted on a 7 year old box, using 14 year old software on a 22 year old internet connection, only .3meg a second out DSL :( . All of which is in my home. Literally after six years of trying to upgrade and move us (we kept losing our polls when I tried to upgrade), I think the latest version of the upgrade software finally has a path to move to a real web server.

I may lock posts, or shut down both with and without a landing page (without meaning no response), for up to a couple of hours. Don't worry the site is just moving onto something that will be faster, more mobile friendly, have better spam filters, and no matter how good I have been at uptime, it will be more robust.

Thank you all for your patience.

Onward and upward.

Magnificent, Kato. If there are costs involved I would gladly donate funds.

A migration will actually drop costs significantly (due to the very high costs of maintaining my duplicate internet connection which allows hosting). In addition to being the smart thing from a usability/reliability/stability point of view, this has made financial sense for a decade, but the migration has always been time consuming and, until the latest upgrade version, flawed in terms of its execution (lost data).

I might try to look into something where the relatively small monthly(/yearly) website payments can be continued by crowdfunding even if I pass away (no worries, it is just none of us are getting younger), but it is probably just easier for me to get a family member to do it.
