General Intro

Okay I have been lurking a while and I love this forum... one of the best run ones I've seen in a while.

I came here from TW2013 - 93 Games Studio Forum...

I played the Original TW2000 V1 and V2 and now have started into TW 2013.

Except for the End of the World background and its non-plausible end of mankind... the rest of the system rocks.

BUT I am still an Original TW2000 diehard fan ... and am now trying to adapt to retrofit the TW2013 rules for TW2000.

Lots of things to cover in this response.

First Welcome fellow T2ker. You have found and are participating in (IMO) the best forum around.

A thanks again to smokewolf (from 93 studios) for being open and friendly in exchanging links. (Some forum managers can be very territorial).

You will find many people here who are of the same vein as you. Many of us just never could get the T2k bug out of our system. I have been thinking about that world since I first got my hands on the books. My prospects for playing now are limited, but I still keep my creative juices flowing here.

Lastly. I also have to say I am very impressed with the T2k13 rules. I have used a custom system for long time but there is much of value in the T2k13 system that I plan to appropriate. As you say the timeline is the weakest part but what gaming rules book bats 1000.

I might as well just copy and paste what kato just posted.;)

Welcome to the mad-house.

Welcome aboard! This is, imho, one of the most mature and friendly forums on the web. Lots of good info from an incredibly knowledgeable bunch of people. Pull up an ammo crate, get close to the fire, crack open some MRE's and join the fun.

Just make sure there's no ammo left in there if you intend to get close.....

BOOM!

:D

Hey a man after my own heart. Nothing like rat on a stick, though I prefer field rats to their city cousins I think (though I never had city rat that I know of),

Welcome

Grae

Its twilight 2000 - of course there's no ammo left :)

And Cdn Wolf - I was only polite getting the MRE's out because you're new here :)

Hah! That's funny. Normally we'd be having (what did a poster refer to it as in a recent thread? Ah yes) "land shrimp". Mixed with gruel. Yum.

I'd rather go for RATOVAN - (rat run over by a van) or maybe a healthy supply of Landshrimp.....they will inherit the world in the end.

Cdnwolf 06-15-2009 03:55 AM

RATOVAN has no skill level in it.... now try dropping a skid while driving a forklift on it... voila... pre-tenderized rat!!

And don't forget there's even a link to this forum in the back of the hard copy. :D

But seriously, there's no reason why there should ever be ONE forum. I enjoy the different styles and content of conversations across the various forums and want each to grow.

But you guys are so lucky to still have some MREs left. All I got are a stash of K-rations I found in a bunch near the Maginot Line.

natehale1971 06-15-2009 05:42 PM

You know, I actually miss MREs. I really enjoyed eating them (though I stayed FAR away from the cheese in a packet... Ugh.), and you should have seen the looks on the Marines faces when i would trade the chocolate brownies for the freeze dried pork chops and apple sauce. Those where my FAVORITE MRE meals! :)

A thanks again for that. I even showed my FLGS (friendly local gaming store) owner that page when I bought the book.

Games Plus I figure I owe them a link as well. I just wish the "local" in FLGS was a little more accurate.

I seem to recall one with some small dried up sausages and a packet of potato crisps that I somewhat enjoyed .

TiggerCCW UK 06-16-2009 02:33 AM

For the British rations it has to be the bacon burgers!!

Marc 06-19-2009 03:26 PM

Wellcome Cdnwolf!

I've just finished a short week of vacation and this forum is one of the few things I missed.
