Anybody know this weapon?

I've looked on all the sites mentioned in the ad, as well as a Google search. It looks like an AK5 with an underbarrel 12-gauge shotgun tipped with a shot spreader.

Hang on, I got to fix my site to allow the picture through my filters.

OK, fixed it.

Looks like a modified G-41 to me but it's a funny angle.

Yeah, the shotgun is not "coaxial" to the rifle; it's down and to the right.

Stackmouse 06-21-2009 02:11 PM

Has the link changed? I'm not seeing anything about a shotgun, just a defense munitions poster with a pic of ak5d...

OK, I'm not sure if you're joking or not. If you're joking, does the AK5D have an underbarrel shotgun or small-caliber GL? If not, look closely -- you'll see the rifle muzzle, and below and to the right, what looks like a shotgun with a shot spreader attachment. Or I'm confused -- always possible...does the AK5D use a bull-profile barrel?

kato13 06-21-2009 02:38 PM

I think I am seeing this head on.

I don't see a second barrel. I see a 5.56mm barrel that looks huge because of perspective.

Cdnwolf 06-21-2009 02:50 PM

Could the upper be a range finder or laser spotter?

At first glance I thought it was something the Colonial Marines out of Aliens would be carrying.

Raellus 06-21-2009 04:56 PM

Now I see it! I wasn't sure what you were talking about Paul, but now that I look closer, the gas block does look big enough to be a 5.56mm barrel and that muzzle brake/flash hider is huge enough to be a 12-gauge barrel.

On a separate note, I think its a telling testament to current world affairs that Sweden (and Norway and Denmark and Germany) all have their own desert-pattern camo fatigues.

That's what I thought when I first glanced at it. Pretty obvious really when you consider it's an AK type weapon.

I wasn't kidding, I really thought that the image had changed :D I really couldn't figure it out that someone could be fooled by the perspective of the photo. The first pic Kato13 posted is the D model, the second pic (with a fixed sights) is the "police model" (can't remember the actual model name).

Well, its a "technical desert" meaning trhat it fullfills the require lack of precipitation that scientist use to define an area as desert..Its around 1-3 square kilometers or so some where in the central northern inland.

I dont think our camo pattern was developed for that one though...I kind of liked the one we used in the 90s..straight up kahki with no other colors. The one we used in the Lebanon was cool too..Indian Bush pattern.

As for the AK5 - I thinks its cool as sh*t and reliable too . Its a refined FN CAL as I understand it .

A stand alone shotgun system for it would be cool I guess , but the units in need of such equipment mostly use US gear in teh Scandinavian forces .( They are not big number -but they are constantly in Afghanistan or Iraq making sure Norway stays on the talibob death lists)

Same here.

If nothing else, its a fine example of how photos or sightings could be misidentified in game.

It's a AK 5 C
a modified AK A (Automat karbin5 A).

AK 5 is an FN C built by bofors in sweden.

It’s the Swedish s solution for a new weapon for international missions.
And for vehicle crews.

Its (as far as a now) only delivered to the units abroad ( Afghanistan , Kosovo , Aden bay etc)

Or prioritized units at home.

I had one last year when I was with the army’s mechanized rapid reaction company.

First after the more prioritised units of the Nordic Battle group turned in their equipment did we receive all the extra nice stuff.
Such like the laser thingy as well as the flashlight.

The bulky thing attached to the muzzle flash eliminator?

Is only used when you’re firing training ammo to split up the wooden bullet before its leving the muzzle.

Of course this is a special one modified to this version.

And they made to few of them so until the Battle group relinquished their equipment ve had to have 2 wepons.

One C for live fire and one A model for training/practice.

The main thing is that the barrel is shorted compared the A model.

Its also have a last shot feature with means that the chamber remains open.

Dam I don’t now any of the technical terms in English.

And yes ,the heavy sat dude is me.

Q: after 3 attempts of posting a pic of myself and the gun.

Can I even post pics?

Awesome pic. Glad it was figured out.

There should have been some sort of error message about the size. I will investigate.
