the Bergmann Bayard ( or Mars as it is also called I think ) is a personal favourite .It looks cool, the grips look good and it has a serious caliber .
The Danes made their Bergmanns come with slightly bigger grips and a 10 round mag .
If I could get me one of those....
I do love the "proto-autos" in all their steam punkish splendour.
In real life I have to admit - I see why the wars back in the day took so many years even thoug the enemy was in plain sight 90 % of the time .The early automatics are like a puzzle with 23 finicky metal pieces that all must fit together just so- or it is all ruined. Now,doing that at night in a muddy trench while rounds impact around you and a human wave attack is rapidly closing on your position seems a bit akward .
A Glock has 4 parts when field stripped- even if you never saw one before you could sort of get it back together in a hurry if you had to .
