Note that a grenade flies quite slowly. It's possible if you're reasonably quick, to fire one indirect on a higher than 45 degree angle, reload, and fire a second round direct and have them both hit the target at almost the same moment. This technique has been used to confuse an enemy into believing there's twice as many grenadiers as there really are.
