It's been discussed a few times in the past and the consensus appears to be it's flooded. The French wouldn't have allowed the UK to move troops or supplies through it to Germany and it's very likely even in the early stages of the war, traffic would have been seriously limited by both sides.
The French wouldn't have wanted a flood of refugees through it from the UK (as people panic at the prospect of the Soviets using nukes from day one) and the UK would tighten security at their end the moment France pulled out of Nato.
