Yes, but that was
Iraq, a war that didn't receive a whole lot of international support, and one which in no way pursued Japanese interests. WWIII in East Asia is a totally different proposition. With China on the ropes and NK forces pushing towards Pusan, the national mood in Japan would likely be very different. I think the Japanese would rather fight communist expansionism on foreign soil than on its own island possessions.
