This is the Royal Navy at the start of of OfC, personnel total is down from62,000 (1991) and the first steps are taking place with the retirement of classes and the halting of some new construction and the canceling of plans for others. This would also be the start of the reported issues with the reactors on many of the nukes (the Swiftsure/Resolution-class).

My own feeling towards the status of the missile boats at the start of the Twilight War is that the Polaris boats would be retired (they date back to 1964), the big question would be if the British could rush construction of the new Trident boats in time for them to enter service.
