HorseSoldier: I agree that the crazy clothes would be unlikely in a CONUS gang. I had already toned it down A LOT from the BBC article that I was plagarizing about the actual "West Side Boys." Mad Max inspired leathers would be much more likely, and intimidating.
Raellus: I'm not stuck on the name of the gang or the title of their leader. I did want to tie in the branding and the gang name, since that could be useful in storytelling. Is there a way to edit previous posts? I VERY loosely based "The Duke" on an acquaintance of mine who called himself that, and tried to get others to, played football in college, he's now a used carsalesman. He was very much a manipulator and ends justify the means kind of guy, no where near as bad as depicted here, of course.
Tombot and Others: Thanks for the positive feedback. I originally had this gang located in CONUS. I tried to make it more generic, but on rereading, I've left some specific elements in that should have came out, as well as a few spelling errors. I believe with minor modifications it could fit in many places, and be a significant direct threat to a party as well as an obvious hostile element that should be dealt with.
In my campaign, many years ago, this threat was 'bearing down' on several small barely scraping by and non-cooperating communities, when a PC group arrived, one of the PCs families was from the area. When the PCs arrived this group had just a week earlier, and they had raided their home, several bodies were found, but those of women and children were missing.
I think having a State Recon and Reconstruction Team run into evidence, rumors and elemensts of this group, then have the players make decisions on how to deal with it would be very interesting role play. The SRRT-9 does not have the capabilty to take them on directly. Can they do enough to stiffen, train and organize the locals to repulse, or preferably destroy this gang?
