New England has an awful lot to offer I have always to run a campaign exclusively in the North east, especially since I grew up in the Area. I think it would be a interesting place to play games. I totally imagine a lot of small strong holds, Warlords and militias, bridgands ect. I think it would be a great area for a civillian/ low military campaign.
