Default Medical Kits and Supplies

Advanced MedKit Weight: 0.1kg
This kit consists of a single drug injector that is preloaded with Nanobots. These nanobots are programmed to help the immune system against biohazards and common viruses. They also speed the healing of broken bones and blood vessels (by 50%), and normal tissue healing (by 25%). Internal organs (liver, kidneys, lungs, etc.) are unaffected, since the nanobots aren’t complex enough to handle injuries to those areas.

The drawback to this kit is that there is a chance (1 in 50) of the victim being allergic to the nanobots. Their immune system will react to the nanobots and attack them to the exclusion of all else. Symptoms include extremely high fever within six hours of the injection, rashes over most of the body, extreme vomiting, and extreme dizziness leading to death within 48 hours. There is a special nanobot removal drug which, if given within two hours of the first symptoms, will terminate the allergic reaction and kill the nanobots. The drug however, leaves the immune system totally depleted for up to 40 days. The patient must be kept within a totally sterile environment throughout this period.

All Project field personnel have been tested to insure that they are not allergic to the nanobots. Team medics are issued two injector for every team member (labeled with their name).

Blister Treatment Kit Weight: 0.1kg

When used in small amounts, bleach is an effective and very common field-expedient method for purifying water. Liquid bleach is most often used to purify a large point source of water (i.e. a 1,000 liter tank or a 20 liter jerry can) and not individual canteens. One liter of bleach is sufficient to decontaminate 100,000 liters of water. It can also be used to sterilize medical equipment when an autoclave is not available.

Universal Antibody Weight: 0.907kg
One of the most closely guarded secrets of the Project. This drug can cure most diseases within 24 hours and speed healing at up to six times the normal rate. The agent is successful 80% of the time for each injection. Only one injection may be given within a 24-hour period with no more than four injections total being given. The antibody must be “tuned” to the patient’s body chemistry by a med unit connected to a biocomp. If this is not done, there is an 80% chance of death. The medical specialist in each
team is equipped with two injectors of this drug that have been pre-tuned to each team member.

Universal Antidote Weight: 0.907kg
Designed for use with poisons, such as those from snakes or spider bites. The antidote must be injected but does not need to be “tuned” to the patient. It is effective 90% of the time and the dosage routine is the same as that for the universal antibody.

Water Chlorinating Kit Weight: 2kg
This kit contains ampoules of calcium hypochlorate sufficient to disinfect 3,000 liters of water, and a test kit to determine if the water has been sufficiently disinfected (it cannot determine if the water is clean to begin with). The process takes 30 minutes to fully disinfect and test. This kit also contains 5 bottles of iodine tablets for individual canteen disinfection.
