Both doors are equipped with racks for holding spices and seasonings.

Emergency Ration Bar Weight: 0.47kg per pouch
A ration that provides essential vitamins and minerals. Each bar provides 400 calories. Recommended consumption is 2 bars per day for normal activity, 3 bars for higher levels of exertion. Issued in vacuum-sealed, waterproof packs of six bars each, measuring approximately 10.1x17.8x3.2cm. The manufacturer claims that each bar comes in one of three flavors; amused Project personnel can spend hours coming up with fantastic guesses on what those flavors actually are.
Field Kitchen Weight: 11.3kg
A strong aluminum frame that features lantern holders, cutting board/work surface, utensil hooks, food storage area, cooler storage area, paper towel holder and a side shelf for use as a cooking or eating area. The working area measures 8’8” long by 22” wide with a 36” tall counter. Lantern holders are 6’8” tall so that lanterns are up and out of the way. Folded dimensions are 45”x22”x6”. Comes with a heavy-duty nylon carrying bag.
Food Packet, Survival, General Purpose (FPSGP) Weight: 0.71lb; (per case of 24): 18.21llbs
This packet is designed to sustain an individual in survival situations, under all environmental conditions, and when potable water is limited. It is used to sustain personnel in any survival situation for periods of less than five consecutive days. The ration contains six compressed bars (consisting of two cereal bars, three cookie bars and one sucrose bar), Lemon tea, sugar and soup & gravy base. All are sealed in individual pouches within a water -proof box. Each packet provides 1,447 kilocalories. Fourteen ounces of water are required to reconstitute the lemon tea, and the soup and gravy base. The minimum shelf is five years.

These rations are intended for issue to refugee populations. They are designed to provide a full day’s sustenance to a moderately malnourished individual. In order to provide the widest possible acceptance from the variety of potential consumers with diverse religious and dietary restrictions, the HDR contains no animal products or animal by-products, except that minimal amounts of dairy products are permitted. Alcohol and alcohol based ingredients are also banned. The meal bag is similar to the MRE meal bag except that it is salmon color and it contains graphics demonstrating how to open the bag and the the contents should be eaten. Since the meal is designed as a complete day’s supply of food, a minimum of two entrees is provided in each meal bag. Complementary components are also included to provide the balance of the daily nutritional requirements for not less than 2,200 calories. The minimum shelf life is 36 months.

Insulated Food Container Weight: 3kg
Not something to eat, but rather a way of keeping cooked and perishable food fresh and at proper serving temperature for at least two hours. It is basically a giant Thermos, about 64x43x24cm in size, with a lid that is sealed tight with a gasket and with three pans inside to hold the food. It will keep food at acceptable levels in temperatures ranging from -25° to 120°F.

This ration is designed to sustain an individual engaged in heavy activity such as training or during operations when normal food service facilities are not available. The MRE is a totally self-contained ration consisting of a full meal packed into a flexible meal bag. Each meal bag contains an entree and a variety of other components. The components are selected to complement each entree as well as provide necessary nutrition. The contents of one MRE bag provide an average of 1,250 kilocalories. Except for the beverages, the entire meal is ready to eat. While the entree may be eaten cold when necessary, it can also be heated in a variety of ways including submersion in hot water. A flameless ration heating device is packed into each meal bag. The minimum shelf life is three years.

A plastic container that separates to make two trays, each approximately 7.5”x5”. Stowed inside is a 4.25” diameter plastic eating/mixing bowl, a collapsible plastic drinking cup (holds 7 fl oz), a stainless steel interlocking knife-fork-spoon set, a three-compartment spice container and a 4.5”x7” cutting board, perforated on one corner for draining.
Mounted Water Ration Heater (MWRH) Weight: 4.5kg
This device is used to heat water, which can then be used for hot drinks, to heat pouched or canned rations, or to provide hot water for hygiene purposes. It can heat 3.75 liters of water to boiling in 20 minutes. The basin is large enough to hold 5 MRE entrees at once. There is a spigot on the front to dispense water for beverages or hygiene purposes. The device is designed to be installed in a vehicle, and runs off vehicle power.
Nonflammable Ration Heater (NRH) Weight: 0.06kg
This small device, issued with MRE meals, is designed for individual heating of meal components in water. The device consists of a long plastic bag and two packets of chemicals. The chemicals are poured into the bag, water added to the fill line and the bag sealed. It is then placed into a container of water. The device will heat all the applicable parts of an MRE to 140°F in less than 15 minutes. The NRH is cheap, produces no toxic fumes and is very light.

Pouch bread is basically a small loaf of bread sealed in a soil or plastic pouch, treated with preservatives, stabilizers, water-control agents and oxygen-scavenging sachets to keep the bread fresh for at least 3 years under normal storage conditions. The technology has also been extended to other items such as brownies, cookies, Pop-Tarts, pound cake and the like. These are not intended to replace normal rations, but are intended to serve as supplements.

These items are designed to provide personnel in the field with an easy meal. They are basically hollowed-out Pouch Bread filled with a variety of different fillings, ranging from roast beef to turkey to ham to peanut butter and jelly to alfalfa sprouts and cheese. They are popular due to their ease of use and consumption. Required intake is 1.5kg per day. Shelf life is 3 years.

Stove, Personnel Weight: 0.1kg
A lightweight aluminum stove designed to fold flush under a canteen. Will hold a single canteen cup and uses Trioxane fuel tablets. A pack of Trioxane fuel tablets comes with each stove.
Trioxane Fuel Weight: 0.01kg
Lightweight “heat tablets”. One tablet will generate enough heat to warm the contents of a single canteen cup. Comes individually wrapped in bars, three to a box, five boxes to a pack.

This item is used as a mandatory supplement and/or enhancement for operational ration feeding during operations which do not have refrigeration capability or have very limited capability. It is used in situations that do not permit resupply of perishable foods. The minimum shelf life is 10 months. UHT Milk is an 8oz, single-serving box that has been specially treated to kill all microbes and keep fresh even under high temperatures without refrigeration. The container comes with a straw. The following varieties are available: Whole White; Whole Chocolate, Low-Fat White, Low-Fat Chocolate, Low-Fat Strawberry.

A heavy duty, stainless steel bottle with double O-rings for a better seal. Comes with an insulated screw-on cup and a 1.1qt capacity.

These are plastic pouches of distilled water intended for emergency use in survival situations. They are guaranteed to remain fresh for 60 months and contain 4oz of water each, and a nipple for drinking.

This is a large plastic bottle containing 16oz of water. It is intended for the use of medical personnel.
Water Filter Weight: 4.3kg
A gravity filter can that can purify 24 gallons of water per day. It uses ceramic filters that will last an average of 60,000 gallons of water before having to be discarded. The upper tank hold 9.5 quarts of water while the lower tank will hold 9 quarts of purified water. A set of 4 replacement filters comes with each unit.
Water Purification Tablets Weight: 0.02kg per bottle
Purifies contaminated water with germicidal iodine tablets. One tablet disinfects 1 liter. Bottle of 50.
Wine Weight: 1kg
One liter of “table” wine.
