Weapons: Machine Guns
Browning M-2HB
The “Ma Deuce” has been the primary commander’s machinegun on Western armored vehicles since the early 1920s. Since its introduction, the M-2 has gone on to become the most ubiquitous firearm in existence. It is a robust and tough design, noted for its extreme reliability under any conditions as well as for its accuracy. Project M-2HBs have been modified with a mount for an optical sight, and quick-change barrel.

FN MAG-58
A belt-fed weapon, the MAG may used as a light or medium machinegun. A variable gas regulator allows a choice of cyclic-fire rate of 700-1000 rpm. The barrel, with a chrome-plated and stellite-lined bore, is quick-detachable, and a heavy-duty version may be used in the sustained-fire role. A very rugged and reliable design that is issued as the team’s base of fire as well as being fitted as the co-axial and anti-aircraft machinegun on many Project vehicles. Known in the US military as the M-240 and produced in two main variants: the C (co-axial-mount) and G (ground-mount). The C has no buttstock or trigger grip, no carrying handle, no sights and a different flash suppressor than the G.

FN M-249 SAW
This is the FN-Minimi with minimal small changes to meet the U.S. Army’s requirements for a squad automatic weapon. The changes are largely to suit US manufacturing methods are relatively small, the principal exterior difference is the addition of a heat shield above the barrel. The Minimi has earned a reputation for reliability. It is unusual in being able to fire from an M-16-type magazine or a belt without any modification having to be made. A special cover plate close the belt aperture when a magazine is loaded, or closes the magazine aperture when a belt is in place, so that there is no danger of a double-feed.
