To me, holidays were when everyone in the family gathered. And argued. and 3/4 of the family got drunk. And where my stepmonster decided he didn't like any of his gifts and that we should have just given him the money.
I preferred Christmas in the Army in the mess hall. The Army goes all out for Christmas dinner.
But my mom does make fantastic prime rib.
