Here in my city, Perth in Western Australia, we hold an official Memorial Day commemoration for our American friends, every year for the last 17 years. It is held in Kings Park, the place where West Australians commemorate their own fallen. As far as I know it is the only official Memorial Day commemoration in in Australia. The bonds of mateship in battle between Australia and the USA have been and remain very strong.
