Thanks, I didn't even notice you forgot my 'nym. I managed to contract diverticulitis and pneumonia at the same time. The diverticulitis was easy to knock out -- five days of antibiotics -- but the pneumonia hung on for nearly two weeks, hence the coughing. My doctor couldn't give me codeine because opioids interact with my schizoaffective disorder and produce hallucinations. She recommended Alka Seltzer cold & flu gelcaps, and they actually worked better than any other meds I ever took for pneumonia. Sometimes a prescription isn't necessary.
