The Swiss Guard actually did use the PM-12 before they switched to H&K products.
BTW -- the Swiss Guard are not just a ceremonial force (though they also perform those duties). They are perhaps the best bodyguard unit in the world -- with training on par with some special operations units. And they are not trained in the Vatican or in Italy -- they're still trained in Switzerland, and you need to be at least a one-term veteran of an infantry type military unit before they'll even
consider your application. They'd rather have special ops-type veterans.
