Default More questions to Rainbow Six (South Africa OOB)

As I agree with you, here is South Africa. Nevertheless, even if you follow v1.0, South Africa would have granted independence to Namibia.

SOUTH AFRICA
I kept this one for the end as it remain a special case in Africa and as it will be more demanding.

If following T2K (either v1.0 or v2.0), I would expect the government to maintain the Apartheid system in face of the increasing tensions. Of course, during the war, with hunger and sicknesses, that would lead to Civil war. However, ethnic tensions (among blacks) the devastating effect of AIDS and starvation would certainly give the upper hand to the white dominated army. Nevertheless, even if they get support from part of the black population, that will pose tremendous problems as they will have to get more white conscripts. In the Outcome, the country would stabilze toward 2000 with organized regions on the coasts, in the East and around the economical centers. Chaos would predominate elsewhere and the level of population would have dropped significantly despite the fact that the country didn’t receive any nukes. With a true industry that would not be that much in bad shape and energy still flooding, the country might have become one of the major power in the world. Some could argue, that South Africa would have joined with the ally but that is doubtful as years of embargo would have left its mark. In T2K that country might retain some nuclear capabilities.

If following T2013, that would evolve very differently. Ethnic tensions would be directed primarily against foreigners but the country would not avoid it and it would lose a fair part of its population because of this. Then, the army would bring its forces together in order to face the various threat that could appear, designing several security zone that would remain organized. These could be more important than in T2K but large zone of chaos would exist, nevertheless. The country would still be able to get electricity but the supply would be more shaky and the industry, also still there, would be less in shape as the government would have been taken in the middle of reform process. Losses in human life could be important as the army would lack sufficient supply and proper organization for a time. For some times, it would remain unable to intervene everywhere and it would let several unrest go extreme.
