This link goes with the NATO OOB above. It also has the same OOB that is easier to download IMO since you don't have to join anything.

Actually Grae, the orbats on orbat.com you reference are the daddies of the tank-net effort. The folks on tank-net have been working on updating the orbat.com ones for a few years and are light-years ahead in accuracy. The most accurate English-language Soviet orbat is in the orbat.com forums (which were recently spam-attacked, go to the last page of the general history forum), where long ago I reposted a translation of the first of the USSR sources I listed above. You can browse tank-net.org as a guest.

I'll have the Pact western, northwestern and southwestern TVDs detailed (regiment/battalion-level) orbat done hopefully by year end, along with a revised division and army-level worldwide Pact orbat to go on my site.

I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end...
