Default Melee Rules Edit

"Gentlemen"..

Ladies..

hehe

A certain member of our group has pointed out a discrepancy in the MELEE RULES ( house rules ) .

No names to be mentioned - but he certainly has an interest vested .

The thing to consider is the rules regarding KICKING vs BOXING vs GRAPPLING

all fine diciplines with their own uses .But they nedd to be balanced a bit more ,and I put forth the following suggestion :

1. kick/box is 1 level more difficult when laying prone in a grappling match
grappling numberr of attacks is skill / 3 round down
( this gives the grappler alot of advantage on the ground )

2. Kicking number of attacks is henceforth skill / 3 round down .
( kicking is twice as deadly as boxing is /double damage )

3 .Boxing number of attacks is skill/ 2 round up
(this means that a boxer will be faster on the offensive and defensive )

What about blocks you say ?

well, this would mean that
a boxer with a skill of 9 gets 5 attacks and 5 blocks

a kicker with a skill of 9 gets 3 attacks and 3 blocks

a grappler with a skill of 9 gets 3 attacks and 3 blocks.

If your guy has a skill of 10 and STR 10 he will give 10 CH / HP pr attack for a grapple attack .Basically meaning that he can give between 20 - 30 hp pr phase .But he will have to close the distance ,giving the defender the possibility to stand his ground and attack for a full phase as the two are going into a clinch .The grappler has the prone advantage ,can deploy special techniques/attacks for double damage /controlling hits .

The kicker will have deadly damage and fairly quick attacks.

A boxer with 10 skill and 10 STR will only be able to give 5 hp pr attack , but he has more attacks for a total of 25 hp possible in one phase .
The boxers weaker attacks is also balanced by him having the possibility to attack a kicker or grappler 2 more times than the grappler /kicker can block .

This way each dicipline has been weighted against eachother .

Kick vs box - kicker better get his attack in first to knock the boxer out of the round
kicke/box vs grapple -grappler got to endure closing the distance ,but kicker/boxer better not fall down .

If there are no major concerns raised by thursday -we shall be going with these amendments to the house rules .
