We definitely did our best to blend reality with the 4e timeline as much as possible, using real life events. Huge props to Chico for sharing his many, many collected OrBats with me (thanks, Chico - I gave you a shout out at the beginning of the supplement for your help as well
) - those were used directly in determining where a lot of the units wound up in the narratives we wrote.
