Actually, considering the incidence of rape in African conflicts, I think the AK is pregnancy#2 prevention. Cheaper than condoms or pills and MUCH more effective. It's also a deterrent to put fear in the hearts of would-be rapists--"hmmm...I wonder if she's got something concealed?"
