She was decommissioned in 1989, but I always rule in my own T2K games the the CGC Northwind was saved from the scrapyard and placed on display in Wilmington NC next to the USS North Carolina museum ship. As a result, both of these vessels are refitted and are available for duty when the war breaks out.
