these are the proposed Shell Corp. wind turbines as depicted in the map in the eureka reporter in march 2007.
they are located on bear river ridge, Humboldt County, California. 35 of them are proposed along a 6 miles strech of the ridge.

During the cold war this station was the farthest western base in the continental US. A cable was laid to about 300 miles out for submarine detection purposes. It closed awhile ago.
