a PC in our campaign had a brilliant moment : after being hired as mercenaries by a small faction of militiamen ( the staked out by FBI kind of militia ) ,the players were embroiled in a plot to kill the current leadership ( the father,oldest brother and henchmen) on the orders of the youngest brother ( little Shakespearian massacre to lift the spirits).

The hitch was that no guns were allowed in the room -save the head honchos personal sweet gun , a.44 mag S&W with a 10 inch barrel.The only chance they had to get all of them at once was presented as a massive celebratory dinner with 60 guests.The party dutifully played their parts as the buff new mercs that could throw knives throug playing cards nailed to a wooden door,juggle hatchets and do martial arts katas and displays ,.Everyone got drunk and were happy thatthe mercs were so bad ass, and that they would soon go out in to the biting winter cold instead of them and oppress the pesky peasants that the faction had subjugated for their supplies and entertainment etc.


But ofcourse -the ploy was that the PCs only drank a little and after hours of revelry and foreboding toasts made to the father and older brother etc by the younger son ,the knifefight started.The PCs quickly barred the entrances and killed of scores of the militia using cutlery ,furniture and what display weapons they had brought with them .Outside the furious guards tried to break the doors down to stop the massacre -they didnt know what went on .

After all had been slayed that were on the list ,the devious younger brother insolently threw him self down in his fathers chair and DEMANDED that the pC who dhad taken his fathers gun HAND IT OVER NOW!!
The plan was about to enter the second phase at this point were the selfinflicted wounds and tall tale of treason by some of the dead would clear said young mans way to the throne ,with his new fopund favourite mercs at hi side to be wealthy men indeed.

But this was not to be - OUTRAGED by the commandering tone of voice and insolent posture of the young and cunniving buck the PC up and shot the younest son center mass -twice- to teach him a good lesson on how to såpeak to his mercenaries.This of course necsessitated that the rest of the plotters be killed to keep em silent and when the guards broke the doors down the mercs found themselves pleading "self defense" .(Naturally the GM saw this as a great opportunity to have them chained to pole in the snowy woods to be wolfbait/fooder .

nevertheless,shooting the employer and master plotter at that crucial time rans high up there on my Player crazy acts list .

I remember that...They still have one of my Katanas.....
