Default U.S. Army Active & Reserve Component Info 1980's

Hi all,

While working on my BAOR document, as you might know, I have taken a stab at the U.S. Army in the 1980's. I'll be brief but believe it or not it has been much easier dealing with the MOD/British Army than getting any info from DOD/U.S. Army.........I digress........ I have attached scans from the book U.S. Army Guard & Reserve: Rhetoric, Realities, Risks
the deployment times are from the early 1980's (prior to 1984) and represent the "best-case".....as you will also see there are some minor typos (2nd Inf Div (Mech) !?!?!?) but from my research so far its pretty accurate.

Re: POMCUS ......It looks like POMCUS wouldn't have been fully stocked until the early 1990's at the earliest..... I have read multiple documents (Congressional testimony etc.) that basically state that 5 ID(M) was planned on going to Europe via ship........as of 1989 the "10 in 10" (Division Equivalents) would have been:

III Corps
4 ID (M)
1 CD (-)
2 AD
3ACR
= 3 DE

V Corps
8 ID (M)
3 AD
194 AB
197 IB (M)
11 ACR
= 3 DEs

VII Corps
1 ID (M)
3 ID (M)
1 AD
2 ACR
= 3 1/3 DE

For a Total of 9 1/3 DE
5 ID (M) (-) would come via the SL-7 fleet (2 Bdes) making a total of 10 DE.

I have not included the ARNG Bdes because according to the U.S. Army in Congressional Testimony they were NOT planning on having any ARNG R/O Bdes in Europe as part of "10 in 10"
