I'm not sure about primary training, but prospective fighter and attack pilots go to Randolph AFB here in San Antonio. It's on the far north of San Antonio in an area of the city called Universal City. T2K canon says it took a 1 MT nuke on TDM, but I find that hard to believe considering the events of Red Star, Lone Star.
