Default Registered Salvage Operations?

So the topic came up tonight when we were discussing why we would want to extend our reach outside of the Texas Gulf Coast when we have just about all the resources we need for the immediate future.

Louisiana and Mississippi only have more oil as far as natural resources go...none of the south is of much value there either. Florida? Nah....

And then salvage was discussed.

Salvage the industrial capacity of one city and moving to one of ours...or just straight scrounging/salvaging of anything useful would be nice.

We dont want to try and extent military control over an area just to salvage its resources...and then "registered salvage teams" came it mind.

In that "PA Crude" article that had specialized independent operators go out, find something we need and sell the location to us....or even have the locals do the work and sell it to us for food maybe?

Locally we do our own government run salvage operations...

Thoughts?

We've had some great discussions on salvage operations in the last. I'll try to find the threads when I get home.

I looked through some of them I could find in the search feature...good reads. Thank you for the suggestion.

Reason I ask is my group is torn between trying to help the rest of the country and just staying put and rebuilding Texas.

Food / oil are coming at a regular pace now...its the other technologies out there we need access to.

Vehicle/armor/weapons production facilities, electronics repair/production, other natural resources, etc are all things we lack now and could find outside the area. Rifle River comes to mind...

But they dont want to control a county 4 states away to control the resource. Find it, capture it and move it back to Texas is the idea...some cases easier said then done I am sure.

M1 facility in Ohio for example...GREAT ASSET...in the middle of now where 1000's of miles away from Texas.

Perhaps paying other to find things and sell them to us...or sell the location and let us worry about the salvage?

My thoughts are two fold, first if you are the one helping them recover then you are the one helping set the system of goverment in a rebuild. Second Some things are just to big to move, the M1 plant would be very difficult to move easily, a shipyard for a CVN even harder.

Agreed.

But the staff of the factory or the stores would be good enough if anything...

I cant imagine MILGOC/CIVGOV not going after these sorts of targets though to be honest...

HUMVEE factories, M-16 plants etc...
