Default Just a weird idea...

What if you let the characters find a car...but it's an old steamer? Like if they found a refugee from Jay Leno's garage or something...

Like One of these:

1910 Stanley Steamer Model 70

The Steam is generated in a vertical fire-tube boiler, mounted beneath the seat, with a vaporizing kerosene burner underneath. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanley...rriage_Company

The kerosene might be a hard component to get in Twilight?

For a potential UKSB for T2013 I had stats for old traction / ploughing engines and steam trucks worked out as there are a fair few of them kicking round the UK. Same with old Sentinel steam trucks.

Assuming you have a semi-competent metal basher / plumber you should be able to keep it working for a time.

Side note is that a lot of the engines had pulleys for belt drive systems to let them turn generators and some had small dynamo's built in for running lighting etc.

I would imagine that alcohol could be substituted--but what a hot-seat if the boiler goes up!

Thats not a weird idea... its a good one!
Just imagine a mixed group of T2k-Adventurers in a car like that... Quite unique
Little moments like that add to good atmosphere in any adventure.
