Eight Years
Hello everyone,
It's been eight years since the terrorist attacks on 9 September 2001. Eight years since our world was changed... This thread is NOT to talk about politics, but for us to take a moment to remember the thousands of men and women were murdered on a bright and sunny day in New York City and Washington, DC. And to remember a group of gutsy passengers who fought to retake United 93 and brought it down a lonely field in Pensylvannia.

Fuck being a hero. Do you know what you get for being a hero? Nothing! You get shot at. You get a little pat on the back, blah blah blah, attaboy! You get divorced... Your wife can't remember your last name, your kids don't want to talk to you... You get to eat a lot of meals by yourself. Trust me kid, nobody wants to be that guy. I do this because there is nobody else to do it right now. Believe me if there was somebody else to do it, I would let them do it. There's not, so I'm doing it. |

I lost a good friend in the world trade center attacks. May we never forget!

Post 9/11
Living in Fayetteville, NC, I never forget 9/11. The men and women from Fort Bragg, Pope Air Force Base, Seymour Johnson AFB, and Camp Lejeune do their best to keep all of us safe.
To paraphrase from Charles Dickens God Bless them, everyone. |
