Humvee variant
ReHerakhte 05-20-2004, 09:38 AM Please take a look at these pics and post back any info if you have any.
All I can tell you is that the operators are most likely Serbian military and it appears they have bought the civilian 'Hummer' and mod'ed them for internal security. The photos come from http://elektron.tmf.bg.ac.yu/user/bo.../jeeps/hummer/ so it's a good bet they are uniquely Serbian http://elektron.tmf.bg.ac.yu/user/bo...bg-30-2_02.jpg http://elektron.tmf.bg.ac.yu/user/bo...er_m2hb_02.jpg http://elektron.tmf.bg.ac.yu/user/bo.../hummer_02.jpg Cheers, Kevin ******************** pmulcahy 05-20-2004, 10:41 PM Never seen that particular variant before, but that's the sort of Hummer they need in Iraq right now, though they look like they're sitting a bit "heavy" on their suspensions. ******************** ReHerakhte 05-21-2004, 04:20 AM Hell yeah Paul, I reckon with all that extra weight they'd be a real bitch trying to turn at higher speeds, hope they took power steering with their options package! And with the back end open to the sky I guess the air conditioning was a non-seller... What threw me at first was the tyre pressure regulation system and the low slung look. At first I thought they were Russian or Chinese copies then I got to this pic http://elektron.tmf.bg.ac.yu/user/bo...bg-30-2_03.jpg and saw the Hummer name on the tail. There's also some interesting pics of some armoured vehicles that are said to be Land Rover 110's, another case of local modifications. Serbia might not be able to buy lots of military gear from the world market but they obviously don't have a problem getting civvy vehicles and making reasonable armoured vehicles out of them. I'd love to know what sort of weight they are dragging around and the general handling & mileage they get out of them. Looks like a case of "best guess" when it comes to generating game stats for them! Cheers, Kevin ******************** Abbott Shaull 05-21-2004, 08:24 AM Looks like they are getting several items via Civilian market. Those helmets look a lot like Kevlar Helmets issued to the US troops too. Quite interesting though, maybe some should show these to the powers maybe. I just wonder how much there performance suffers though with the additional armor. Abbott ******************** |
