Default What other nationalities do you play?

I'm kind of curious to know if people stick with the mainstream or if they explore some of the other possible nationalities available.
I know some of us like to stick to what we know so people typically pick UK or US personnel from NATO and maybe Canadian or West German and if they select WarPact they typically pick Russian and maybe Ukrainian or Polish.

Has anyone played say Albanian, Romanian or Hungarian and from the other side perhaps someone has played an Austrian or Belgian or even a soldier from Luxembourg?
There's nothing "deep & meaningful" in this, I'm simply curious so the double-sided question is, what other nationalities have you played and why did you choose them?

I've played British, German, Canadian, American, Norwegian, basically any of the Nato nationalities.
I tend to avoid the eastern nationalities.

I've always been the GM, but that means I get to play NPCs of all nationalities!

Yes, there is that too. I'm often the GM myself so I've played plenty of Eastern NPCs.
But NPCs aren't the same as PC's. Often they're short term creations to fill a short term hole in the story so you don't get to flesh them out as much as you might want to.

Oh, and I forgot Australian as one of the nationalities I've played as a PC.

I'm playing a Latvian in Fusilier's PbP. In the campaign that I GM, a couple of Aussie players played Aussie PCs (U.N. security force personnel originally stationed in Cyprus, IIRC) and I also had a South African (Afrikaner). There's currently a Tuvan, a Czech (FFL), and an Israeli PC in my game as well. In Chalkline's PBeM, there was a Hungarian PC.

I've always stuck with the mainstream when playing.

These days I'd actually like the chance to play a French character. I always thought there might be some mileage in a Poland based campaign where the PC's were a DGSE team parachuted into Poland to try and further French interests, e.g. by securing the Black Madonna to use as a negotiating tool.
