I found the Pact feint to the north coast of Germany to be interesting, but likewise I can't imagine it'd force NATO to ignore Fulda and so on. But then, "That is war." (quoth Takeda Shinden).

Also, I wonder how plausible the notion that the Soviets would detonate one nuke in the open sea a few hundred miles from Britain triggering SIOP is.

I found the final line of narration particularly chilling (and effective): "There is no historical record of what happened next." brr.
