Default Just a strange idea

I was watching a new show on CBS called Unforgettable. Briefly, the lead character, Cari Welles, is sort of a police consultant who has perfect recall eidetic memory.

Now suppose in T2K, we have a soldier with perfect recall eidetic memory. Is he an incredible asset for his unit? Or someone who has seen so many horrors in the past five years (none of which he even has the ability to forget) that he is essentially a mental basket case?

I'd say a bit of both. He might well be able to recall exactly where he saw that desperately needed part, draw an accurate to the meter map of an enemy position he scouted three days before, but he's also likely to need constant psychiatric support to avoid slipping into catatonia or eating a bullet.
Chances are he's picked up an addiction of some sort, which is probably going to be alcoholism given the scarcity of other drugs and availablity of moonshine. (Twilightzone:2000, the Paranioa crossover module, has one of the pregenerated characters a wizard of a mechanic who shares the product of the party's still with his vehicle.)
