Shooting rule?
Starting to get back into the T2K playing mindset!
Question. PC is faced with 2 NPC's. PC has either a pistol or submachine gun and decides to fire semi-auto (i.e. 5 bullets rather than burst). How do you ref the PC shooting at the NPCs in terms of shots at each target? Option 1: PC fires single shots at NPC#1 and when down, PC can switch to NPC#2 if he has any shots left (i.e. PC gets to see results of shot before declaring which NPC is his next target) Option 2: PC must declare how many shots at each enemy regardless of hits/misses before rolling the first dice.

We always played with option 2. You are limited to a maximum of three targets.

I always go..... Think of what YOU would do in the situation in real life.
Usually you want to make sure one of the targets is down before switching fire (and your underwear). I pulled out my old COD game and tried a couple of scenarios and found dropping one first (knee shots work well)... then going prone and killing the second worked best.

Shooting at the first target in real life might make it tougher to hit the second target unless they are both totally caught off guard.
For my money I would probably do a double tap at the first guy and 3 at the second just encase the second guy starts to make a run for it or cover. I would probably try to assertain which one is more of a threat. If one is armed and the other isn't id shoot the armed guy first. Also if one is closer id shoot him first. That beings said 2 shots at the closer guy and 3 at the more distant is always a good idea just. If you want to engaged the first target and he happens to drop after the first shot then you could re direct fire to the second target. BIA |

Definitely Option 2.
I'd allow "Fire at Target 1 until he drops" (or "Fire at Target 1 until he drops and one more for safety") rather than forcing a set number of shots. In that case, Target 2 cannot be shot at until next round. IMHO, if you want to track, target and and shoot at multiple targets in the few seconds of a round, that had to have been your intent from the beginning. Uncle Ted |
