Cheat Sheet?
I was curious if people have any ideas for a rules compilation for T2k (2.2). I've been working on a cheat sheet of my own, but I'm not sure what to put into it. Right now it's 11 pages long and has the following:
Character Creation (mostly just a brief overview of promotion, skills/attributes and how to assign them, and contacts) Difficulty (and rolling in general): multipliers and an example, outstanding success/catastrophic failure rules Combat/Involuntary Actions Encounter (spotting) rules Hit Location Damage and Armor Combat Turn Weapon ROF and Magazine codes Ranged Combat (plus Automatic Fire and Movement and Fire) Special Weapon Rules (visual cover, multi-barrel weapons, shotgun, etc.) Indirect Fire Throwing Weapons Explosions (super-simplified) Melee Combat (unarmed and armed) Wounds and Healing (infection, surgery, first aid) Stun/Unconsciousness Travel (foot only)/terrain Supplies and Fatigue Vehicle Maintenance/Repairs Advanced rolls (averaged, etc.) Selected skill uses (biology, chemistry, gunsmith, intrusion, meteorology, small arms [for jams], stealth, swimming, tracking, UMA) Advancement (XP, observation, instruction, new skills) EDIT: The reason for the cheat sheet is to help my friends, who have no Traveller/Twilight experience adjust to the system, so it will include the basic references so that I don't need to pull out a book every two minutes. |

I've made a couple of sheets for convention use, and they're only 2 pages.
"Difficulty (and rolling in general): multipliers and an example, outstanding success/catastrophic failure rules" -- I put this in two lines on the bottom of the character sheet, in the footnote space. "Combat/Involuntary Actions Encounter (spotting) rules Hit Location Damage and Armor" -- I skip this "Combat Turn" -- this I kept, as well as "Weapon ROF, Ranged Combat (plus Automatic Fire and Movement and Fire), Melee Combat (unarmed and armed)" "Wounds and Healing (infection, surgery, first aid)" -- also this Again, that's for convention one-shot games only. It strikes me that "cheat sheet" seems a misnomer for 11 pages.

Convert it to a PDF and post it.

Here it is.
T2k Cheat Sheet.pdf It *should* be fair use, copyright speaking, since there's nothing in there that's meaningfully copyrighted. I've been back and revised it a little since the original post was made, so it's lost a page (just from optimization), and reordered things a little. Feedback welcome, since I'm not fully happy with it. EDIT: Oh yeah, it's got an .odt embedded into it, so if you open it up with LibreOffice it'll be pretty and editable and stuff. I'm fairly nice that way. |

Very useful thanks.
What I'd really like if possible is a flow diagram for combat. |

Ugh, flow charts.
What exactly are you interested in? Like a brief diagram showing the order characters move in, and the way they can take actions? |
